Midway Helen Elizabeth Cooper Barton, 79, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation in Glennville. She has lived in Midway the past 42 years. She was a Member of Midway United Methodist Church and Happy Hearts. She was a former owner of S&H Foodland in Midway. She is preceded in death by her late husband Sam Cooper. She is Survived by her husband Elmer Barton of Midway; two daughters Melanie Smith (David) of Lyons and Terrie Sherrod (Ricky) of Midway; brother Walter Whipp (Carolyn) of Callahan, Fl; stepchildren Lary Barton of Midway, and Derek Barton (Venus) of Byron, Ga; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members. A memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11am at Midway United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances can be made to the Midway United Methodist Church 215 Martin Rd, Midway, GA 31320.
