Carol Denise Carter, 49, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, May 4, 2017. Born in Savannah, GA, on October 3rd, 1967, Carol lived in Richmond Hill her entire life.  She grew up living above the museum at Fort McAllister until her dad retired from the State of Georgia in 1983, and she and her family moved to their family home in Richmond Hill.  Carol was a lifelong member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon L. Harn. Carol is survived by her two loving dogs, whom she considered her children, Trixie Mama and Spider Monkey. She is also survived by her mother, Cecilia Harn-Sales of Richmond Hill; brother, Russell Carter of Brunswick; sisters, Jean Harn (Randall Dailey) of Atlanta and Jane Berentis (Dallas)  of Ft Bragg, NC; three nephews, William Caster of Arizona, Michael Caster of Savannah, and Darwin Harn Dailey of Atlanta; one niece, Faith Harn of Atlanta; and her “adopted” grandparents, Ellis and Jeannie Phillips. Visitation will be 4-6 pm, Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel.  Funeral services will begin at 1 pm, Monday, May 8, 2017, at Richmond Hill United Methodist Church, with a one-hour visitation prior to the service.  Burial will follow in Brickyard Cemetery, Highway 204, Savannah, GA.    Rev. Rick Conley and "Preacher Man” (as Carol would call him), Rev. Dr. Glenn Martin will officiate Carol's funeral.
