James Michael "Mikie" McAllister

August 8, 1958 — March 30, 2017

James Michael “Mikie” McAllister, 58, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017, at his home on Oatland Island.  Born in Savannah, Mikie grew up on Wilmington Island.    He loved the outdoors and traveling across the United States to places of adventure.  He was a loving man who always lent a hand to family, friends, and others in need.  A former truck driver, Mikie most recently provided transportation to and from the Port of Savannah for the Bar Pilots Association.  He will be missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Dasher McAllister; father, James Bennie “Bill” McAllister; brother, David Billy McAllister; and his wife, Kris McAllister. Surviving are his brothers, James Benny McAllister (Debbie) of Katie, TX, and Paul McAllister of Charleston, SC; sisters, Paulette Parker (Michael) of Richmond Hill and Paula Hill (Tony) of Toney, AL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be 10-11 am, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel, followed by services at 11 am in the chapel and burial at Burnt Church Cemetery.  Carter Funeral Home Bryan Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
