June 6, 1946 — October 7, 2016

Hinesville Arline Frances Thomas (best known as Ms. Arline), 70, passed away suddenly Friday, October 7, 2016, of natural causes. She was born in Scranton, PA, and lived in Hinesville since 1978.  She was an active member of St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church and a long-time teacher of Confirmation Classes, a former Para Professional with Liberty County Board of Education, and “The Story Time Lady” at McDonalds.  Ms. Arline touched many lives in this community through both the Boys and Girls Scouts. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at the VFW and American Legion, was an avid collector of all things Snoopy and Peanuts, and a die-hard fan of Penn State Football, the Phillies, and the Philadelphia Eagles. She is survived by her son, John David Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Lillian and son-in-law, Andy Gray; two grandchildren, Thomas McKnight, who was the apple of her eye, and Emily Gray; several brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews, and her many, many friends. Vigil will be held from 5-6:30pm, Thursday, October 13, 2016, at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church, followed by Rosary at 6:30 pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11 am, Friday, October 14, 2016, at St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus and St. Stephen’s Men’s Club. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the St. Stephen Memorial Walk, 399 Woodland Drive, Hinesville, GA  31313.
